Situated in the pretty hills of the eastern sub-Himalayan range Meghalaya is arguably one of the most spectacular states of India. The nature has blessed Meghalaya with plentiful rainfall, virgin forests, sun-shine, tumbling waterfalls, high plateaus, rivers full of crystal clear water, roundabout streamlets and most importantly this state has intelligent, sturdy and hospitable people making the tourists stay delightful.
Shillong is the major town and the capital city of Meghalaya which has got the many beautiful sites as Lady Hydari Park, Ward's Lake, Museum, Polo Ground, Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak which overlooks the golf course of the city. The trekking in its hills is the most exhilarating experience for the adventure loving tourists who come to visit Meghalaya. Cherrapunjee, which is considered as one of the wettest places in the world is also located at Meghalaya. Cherrapunji is 56 KMS away from the capital city Shillong and is situated at an altitude of 1300 meters above the sea level.
Day 01 - Delhi/ Kolkata-Arrival
On your arrival at Kolkata/ Delhi international airport, you will be met by our representative and would be further assisted till your hotel. Rest of the time is kept free to recover from jetlag. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 02 - Delhi/ Kolkata-Guwahati
Board the flight from Delhi/ Kolkata to Guwahati. Arrive at Guwahati airport, you will be received by the representative of HTOI and would be further assisted & transferred to your hotel. Visit the well known Kamakhaya & Navagraha temples. Also visit Srimantha Sankardeva Kalakshetra a biggest center of art in Assam. Evening enjoy a boat ride over River Brahmaputra which is the largest river of India. Stay overnight at the hotel. Day 03 - Guwahati-Shillong
Morning depart Guwahati for Shillong – the capital of Meghalaya. Arrive Shillong, check in to the hotel. Later visit the most famous attraction of Shillong the Rock Gardens. Stay overnight at the hotel. Day 04 - Shillong-Cherapunjee-Mawsynram-Shillong
Today take the day return excursion of Mawsynram and Cherapunjee – one of the wettest places in the world that receives highest rainfalls in the world. Also visit few remarkable mineral caves out of this few are unexplored. Here see a big stalagmite in the form of a natural Shiva Lingam located in a specious cave. Stay overnight at Shillong. Day 05 - Shillong-Jaintia Hills-Shillong
Today, drive to Jaintia Hills to see the Jaintia Tribal Village. This would give you an experience of the tribe’s life from very closely. Stay overnight at Shillong. Day 06 - Shillong-Guwahati-Delhi/ Kolkata
In time, transfer to the airport to board a flight to Kolkata/ Delhi. Arrive Kolkata/ Delhi, transfer to the hotel. Rest of the time is kept free at your discretions or last minute shopping. Stay overnight at the hotel. Day 07 - Delhi/ Kolkata-Departure
At appropriate time, you will be transferred to the international airport to embark the flight back to the onward destination. The tour will culminate here.
