River Rafting at Zanskar River:


Day 01/ Delhi-Arrival

Arrive at Delhi international airport, you will be received by the representative of HTOI and would be further assisted & transferred to your hotel. Rest of the time is kept free to recover from jetlag. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 02/ Delhi-Leh

Zanskar River Rafting Ladakh In the morning, you would be transferred to the airport to board the flight to Leh (the gateway of Ladakh). On arrival at Leh airport, you would be received and assisted to your hotel. Check in to the guest house. Rest of the day is kept free to get acclimatized with Ladakhi climate. Because Ladakh is a high altitude plateau and at least a day is required for acclimatization. Ladakh is a part of Indian State Jammu & Kashmir. Ladakh is also known as mini Tibet. Stay overnight at the traditional guesthouse.

Day 03/ Leh- Shey-Thiksey-Hemis-Leh

Today take a daylong sightseeing tour of Leh area. Visit Shey Gompa or Shey Palace, which is approximately 15 KMS away from Leh town. Shey Palace was used as the summer palace for the Ladakhi Kings. Near to the Shey Palace There are many Stupas and Gompas. Shey Palace was made in the starting period of 17th century AD by Deldan Namgyal. In the Dresthang Gompa, one can see the 12 meters statue of Shakyamuni Buddha – this is the major attraction of Shey Palace. Also visit Thiksey Monastery or Thiksey Gompa – it is 17 KMS far from Leh and near to the Shey Palace. Thiksey Monastery belongs to Gelukspa order and is one of the most attractive monasteries in Ladakh. Later take a tour of Hemis Monastery located 45 KMS from Leh in the South direction. Hemis Monastery is one of the largest and most popular monasteries of Ladakh. Every year Hemis festival is celebrated here which is the very colorful and represents rich Ladakhi culture. Hemis Monastery is associated with Drukpa order and built in 17th of century. The location of Hemis Monastery is quite perfect as this monastery is cradled at a beautiful valley and the lovely streams are surrounding it. Hemis Monastery is faced by the huge walls. Day 04/ Leh-Kargil (3201meters) 10 HRS

Zanskar River Rafting Ladakh In the morning depart Leh for Mulbek-Kargil passing through the fabulous moonscape. The journey will go through Fotu La (14000 feet) - a high altitude pass of the mountains and situated at Indus Valley. On the way stop to visit Lamayuru monastery which belongs with Red Hat sect. Stay overnight at Kargil.

Day 05/ Kargil-Rangdum (12000 feet)

Today start a spectacular journey through Parkachik and Panikar enjoying the splendid views of Kun and Nun Massifs (7000 meters), lynching glaciers and huge meadows. Arrive at Rangdum Monastery (12000 feet) and stay overnight. Zanskar River Rafting Ladakh

Day 06/ Rangdum-Remala (3635 meters) 06 HRS

Zanskar River Ladakh In the morning transfer to Remala the beginning place of the rafting expedition over River Stod which is the tributary of River Zanskar. We will today cross Pensi La (14500 feet) - this enables us to have the imposing view of the Zanskar’s peak. Below there is a glacier called Drung Durung which feeds River Zanskar. Stay overnight at the camp.

Day 07/ Expedition of rafting starts in Remala

After having breakfast, start the rafting from Karsha Monastery close to Padum (3496 meters). We will today raft for 30 KMS, which takes 04 to 05 HRS including a halt to take the lunch. The river is surrounded by over 6000 meter’s peaks. The section of this river will include the Class II part - a nice introductory session for the beginners and also for the river generally. In the afternoon, you may take a hiking tour to visit Karsha Monastery. Stay overnight in the camps. Zanskar River Expedition Tour

Day 08/ Karsha-Pidmo

River Rafting at Ladakh After having leisurely breakfast, start rafting expedition from Karsha towards Honyo or Pidmo (3361 meters), this would take about 03 HRS. The stretch includes the rapids of Class III & II and is of about 25 KMS. Stay overnight at the camp.

Day 09/ Pidmo-Nyerak

Today raft for 25 KMS towards Nyerak (3286 meters) in 03 HRS time, this would be the section of Class III. The canyon will narrow into the river which is really a great gorge. Stay in the camp near to the Nyerak Village. Rafting Over Zanskar River

Day 10/ Nyerak

River Zanskar Rafting Tour The day is kept free at Nyerak. You may also take the hiking trio towards Nyerak Village else relax at the campsite below the willow’s cool shade. Stay overnight in the camp.

Day 11/ Nyerak-Lamaguru

In the morning raft for 35 KMS to Lamaguru (3190 meters). This would take 06 HRS including the lunchtime. We will pass by the Zanskar’s core which is a day of characteristic white water with the rapids of Class III continuously and some rapids of Class IV. Have the lunch close to a big waterfall. Arrive at the camp located near the place where Markha River confluences with Zanskar River. Stay overnight at the camp. Ladakh Rafting Tour

Day 12/ Lamaguru-Nimu

Ladakh Monasteries Have breakfast and raft about 40 KMS in Class III or IV white water starting from Lamaguru towards Nimu (3154 meters) taking approximately 04 HRS. We will raft through Chilling village. This would be the exhilarating rapids because River Zanskar thrusts out here the gorge and meets to Indus River in Nimu. The trip would end at confluence place of River Zanskar with River Indus. Later transfer to Leh. The rest of the time is kept for retail therapies and the hot water shower. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 13/ Leh-Delhi

Today you will be transferred to Leh airport to catch the spectacular flight back to Delhi. Arrive at Delhi airport, transfer to the hotel. Rest of the time is kept free at your discretions. Stay overnight at the hotel. Leh Ladakh Indian Himalayas

Day 14/ Delhi-Departure

At appropriate time, you will be transferred to the international airport to embark the flight back to the onward destination. The tour will culminate here.
