On arrival at Bagdogra airport/ New Jalpaiguri station, you would be received and transferred to Gangtok. Gangtok is the capital city of Sikkim. Arrive at Gangtok, check in to the hotel. Rest of the time is kept free at leisure at Gangtok. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Take a guided tour including the Enchey Monastery, Cottage Industries along with Research Institute of Tibetology and the Do Drul Chorten. In the afternoon take a tour of Rumtek Dharma Chakra Centre and Kaygu Headquarters. Also visit Phodong Monastery located on the North Sikkim highway stopping on the way at Labrang Monastery. Stay overnight at the hotel.
After having breakfast leave Gangtok for Yuksom. Yuksom is the former capital of Sikkim state. This journey from Gangtok to Yuksom covers the magnificent gorge attaching the tumultuous Teesta River on the Coronation Bridge. Have your lunch at Jorethang in Sikkim and proceed further to Yuksom passing by Legship. The route from Jorethang to Yuksom goes through the characteristic Sikkim’s rural landscape including stepped fields of rice and the lush green jungles along with roaring Teesta River under. Arrive at Yuksom check in to the trekkers' hut. Yuksom is located on an altitude of 5,800 feet and have the marvellous views of Mount Pandim & the peaks of Kabru. Stay overnight at Yuksom.
Today start the trek from Yuksum to Tshoka. The distance between Yuksum and Tshoka is about 18 kms and is a 06 hrs trekking. The walk from Yuksum to Tshoka runs through thick pine jungle and oak. After passing Prek Chu River, we need to climb straight 70 degree uphill which is the most difficult phase in the whole Dzongri Trek. Arrive at Bakhim and from here the trek goes through rhododendron and magnolia forests. Arrive at Tshoka and check in at the tent or lodge. Basically Tshoka is a tiny village of Sikkim. Stay overnight at Tshoka.
Today start walking from Tshoka till Dzongri - this is still a vertical climbing and will take around five hours to reach Dzongri. The train from Tshoka to Dzongri runs through dense rhododendron forest. On the way there would be place known as Deorali Dara which offers a magnificent mountain view. Have a short break at Phethang. After resting at Phethang, climb further to Dzongri. The vegetation at Dzongri is thinner and we will find only few shrubs and bushes in & around. Stay overnight at Dzongri in the trekkers hut or tent.
The day would be spent at Dzongri area. In the early morning, start a walk towards Dabla Khang. It is the top of Dzongri one can have a magnificent view of surroundings mountain peaks from Dabla Khang. These mountain peaks are Kabru, Frey, Ratong, Koktang, the Kabru Dome and Chandra Peak. Stay overnight at Dzongri.
Today, trek back to Tshoka. You may also stay at Bakhim as an alternate. Stay overnight at Tshoka/ Bakhim.
Today would be the last day of our trek towards Yuksom. Stay overnight at Yuksom. In time, you would be transferred to Bagdogra airport/ New Jalpaiguri railway station to board the onward connection. The tour ends.
